Here's what you do if you want to create your own personal branding (your own way)

Don't want to read the blog (although you should, it's no-nonsense details) but a presentation is at the end (if you are running out of time) :p

Personal branding is your unique digital presence—it's the version of you that people see online. It’s how you present yourself, your expertise, and your story to the world.

I would like to call it 'digital persona' .- umm Think of it as your online persona, representing who you are and what you stand for.

To kick things off, identify your core strengths. You can't excel at everything—pick what you’re truly good at.

Ask yourself: What do I excel at? What should people know me for? These answers will shape your brand’s identity.

Remember, you can’t be a footballer and a tennis player at the same time—choose your niche.

Define a catchy tagline or a short pitch that captures your essence.

This is your personal brand message. It’s what you want people to remember you by. Are you the "best-selling author," an "award-winning designer," or a "Google-certified digital marketer"? This pitch will be your introduction everywhere you go.

Now, let’s talk platforms.

LinkedIn is the go-to starting point for personal branding. It’s more than a social media platform—LinkedIn is a search engine for professionals. Make sure your profile is optimized, complete, and engaging. Network with purpose. Genuine connections matter. Be real in your interactions and share your authentic story—people connect with authenticity.

Look around for real people doing the same.

Find others in your niche and see what they’re up to. You’re not here to copy them, but you can draw inspiration. It’s about learning from what’s working for others while keeping your unique spin.

Start posting ‘content’—helpful content that showcases your expertise.

Content is at the core of personal branding; think of it as the sun, with everything else revolving around it. Share insights, advice, and stories that matter to your audience. The key is to be consistent—show up on their feeds regularly with valuable posts.

Once you’ve built a presence on LinkedIn, it’s time to expand. Have your own website or blog—a place that belongs entirely to you. Share your expertise there. Don’t stop there—post articles on Medium, create a LinkedIn newsletter, and reach new audiences.

With your blog up and running, learn the basics of SEO.

You don’t need to go deep into technicalities; understanding the fundamentals can make your personal brand more visible. Knowing how SEO works helps your content get the recognition it deserves.

After building your online presence, self-publish ebooks on Amazon and Google Books. This not only showcases your knowledge but also gives you an additional edge. A well-received ebook can open doors, and might even help you secure a Google Knowledge Panel, which is like your own mini-Wikipedia page. But don’t be fooled—it takes time and effort. It took me years, writing 1500+ blogs and contributing to over 50 publications to reach this level.

Why should you bother with all this?

Personal Branding = Digital Currency.

It’s what differentiates you in today’s world where automation is everywhere. People crave a human connection—a face they can trust and follow. Without a personal brand, you risk fading into the background like a semi-dead human with no online existence.

Make your presence felt. Focus on building a reputation, sharing your story, and connecting with people. In a world where everyone is competing for attention, your personal brand is what sets you apart. It’s your chance to be remembered—grab it before you get lost in the crowd.
