How have you found this year’s Summit, Matt?
It’s been very enjoyable. The standard of the speakers was great, and I think the overall organisation of the event was very smoothly run. From a supplier perspective, all the meetings were great, and we got a lot of interest in our product, Each Person, which is fantastic. I would thoroughly recommend Summit Events!
What makes Summit Events so unique?
Summit Event’s best aspect is the overall fun and the spirit of everyone that attends this event. You go to some other events and attendees just do the minimum while everybody here, both the delegates and suppliers, throw themselves in. There is a huge amount of networking and great relationship building opportunities, it is all very unforced and relaxed which is just great for everybody. Everyone is spending valuable time away from their business, so organisers do need to make sure it’s a very valuable and productive experience, which I think Summit Events has done.?
How do you find the events being held abroad and the whole experience of being taken away for three days.
I think having people abroad is a great way of being able to focus the mind, because it takes you out of your day-to-day role. Even though there is a lot of work to do when you’re here, there are breaks and opportunities to network further. A lot of ideas are stimulated through the conversations you are having during the event. Due to the busy lives we all lead, it’s difficult to take the time to do so. I find being out of your normal environment is a real bonus. I understand why some would worry about justifying taking the time and investment of attending, but I would say having myself been here and done it, it’s well worth it. You’ll get so much out of? the event that it offsets any ‘lack of productivity’ you might perceive to have. You end up bringing back huge amounts of energy to the business and new ideas. I have spoken with many delegates and their is experience as delegates is they don’t get to spend time with HR professionals in this sort of setting socially and they learn about each other, they share what they are doing and struggling with, which helps suppliers as some of them are already customers of ours and they start talking about it and as we’re here, we are easily introduced to potential new clients. If anybody is nervous about spending the time, it’s definitely an investment worth making.

You’ve attended our events for numerous years, what keeps you coming back?
We’ve tried a lot of different events and we keep coming back to the summit due to the return on investment, just as with anyone investing money into networking events. What we found is at every summit event we’ve attended, we’ve ended up with new customers and we can also track back lots of our current client base back to Summit Events. Sometimes these relationships take time to build, and even if it’s not the right time to work a delegate that we met at Summit Events, delegates have recommended us to one of their HR contacts so we’ve inadvertently won business! Relationships do take time to build and any kind of big HR platform decision isn't an overnight thing, but you need to be here and meet these people and start the relationship building. If you are not on their radar, they can’t consider you as one of the options.
