Here's What AI Cannot Do!
Despite all of the hype and drama surrounding the benefits of AI, there’s still a lot of things that it cannot do. Yes, its performance has awed the masses and persuaded many entrepreneurs to go all in on the technology, but this hype and bravado needs to be tempered with some reality.
AI technology still cannot fully grasp the varieties of context found in human languages. Plus, it?doesn’t know when sarcasm, euphemisms and other subtleties are being used and that can seriously impact user output. And then there’s the abstract process behind human creativity and emotional intelligence. Yes, AI can analyze data and spot patterns, but can it grasp these higher-level human attributes and others such as inspiration and intuitive thought? No! So, while we’re waiting for those pieces of the puzzle to be found, let’s use this technology to its fullest and appreciate AI’s current capabilities. Here’s more:
“Before understanding how artificial intelligence can help your company, first know what it can't do. A magic bullet. A cure-all. A genie in a bottle. These are a few things that artificial intelligence (AI) is not. AI enables machines to simulate human intelligence, but it still relies on humans to harness its immense potential.”
"Leaders need to educate themselves and their teams about AI's capabilities and limitations. This involves building a solid infrastructure, using training data that is accurate, complete, relevant, and timely, and understanding the types of problems AI can solve. Here's a good place to start: Study why AI has succeeded or failed for specific use cases in your industry."
