BTW, I am certainly not advocating that employees "jump" from job to job at any age or point in their careers. I DO think it is extremely important to stay "current" in the face of emerging technologies which let's face it, affect every single industry we work in - healthcare, retail, financial services, media... I love Tinuade's reader comment. It IS important to move beyond your comfort zone - especially with using and becoming fluent with technology. And once you start, you probably won't want to stop. Your children can be a great guide so let them help you. I'm hoping one of my sons will start teaching me how to code one day soon. Who knows? I could have a whole other career and it's certainly a skill in great demand. Never say never and seek out companies that are investing in their most valuable commodity - you. And technology.
