Here's to Opportunity

To anyone within my network, friends, colleagues, connections – who would care for a (somewhat) brief life update:

These last few weeks have been some of the most exciting and bittersweet of my professional career to date. Admittedly, when I say “my professional career,” it’s not as though I am a seasoned veteran of any one particular industry. That said, executive search, especially within the financial services industry, has to be one of the best ways to learn a multitude of professional skills, and “grow up quickly.”

I cannot articulate appropriately how thankful I am to all the amazing people that I have met in the last few years with Hirenomics. From the amazing co-founders, Jackie Moes & Travis Lind, my current and former colleagues at Hirenomics, the clients that I have worked with, and of course, the thousands of candidates that I’ve had the pleasure of speaking with and representing. It’s been through all of you that I have learned how to effectively communicate, negotiate, represent, and above all else – provide opportunity. I can’t think of a better place to call home, and a better group of people, far and wide, that I am proud to call my second family.

While it pains me to leave this amazing job behind, I am thrilled to announce that I have accepted a role with Securian Financial, and will be officially starting next week! I will be working as an internal wholesaler within their Financial Institution Group, supporting two externals who cover the entire country. I'll be joining a small, close-knit team within a large organization, that I cannot wait to be a part of. It will be an amazing opportunity to work within the financial services industry, and will offer a whole new slate of challenges to overcome, relationships to build, and lessons to be learned. To say that I am enthusiastic for this new chapter of my life would be a woeful understatement.

Anyone who knows me very well, knows that brevity is not a strong suit of mine. If I were to write until I felt I had said everything that I wanted to say, it would be painful for anyone to read. I’ll close by stating that I am unbelievably grateful to everyone who has helped me, directly or indirectly – in getting to the place that I am today. You learn early and often in recruiting that you are only ever as good as the power of your network, and I am blessed to have such a strong network, professionally and personally.

Here’s to opening new doors, and developing new relationships!

I think brevity is overrated in cases like this. I enjoyed reading this comprehensive update—congratulations, friend!
