Here's The One Thing That Scares People The Most, And Here's How To Fix It

People are scared.

And I find that the biggest source of fear is…

Scarcity.

Scared and Scarcity - sound similar right?

To many, it translates into (a) money (thing).

I’ve been testing this out the past couple weeks. Where I’ve allotted a significant chunk of money to giving out tips, spare change, handouts, and charity to different people.

Not only with a willingness to help, but also to see the reactions - to see what triggers them.

A bit of a social experiment of sorts.

And it’s brought tremendous insights to me. Let see.

The main theme I’ve seen is that people are nicer when you give them money.

Not because they're greedy, but because they really need it.

They need it emotionally!

Emotional Money

Yes, you’ve heard it right. The need is emotional.

What this means is that the scarcity is not actually real. They have a house, they have food, they have everything - scarcity is in their heads. Stopping them from doing a lot of things.

I’m saying this because this has happened to me before. In fact, almost all the things I write about all things that have happened to me before.

I just try to experience as much as possible. I’m just not afraid. Anyways, back to the money thought…

Lottery Anyone?

Have you ever heard the question “what would you do if you won the lottery?”

You have right? Have you thought about what’s behind it?

That’s the exact question that moves the needle in this topic. What that reads to me is:

What would you do if you yourself didn’t make money “the problem”. The excuse. The item that would enable inaction.

This I found to be a massive block.

There’s a difference between spending money on things that don’t bring you value, and investing money in those things that will elevate you, make you better, make you happier, make you healthier.

In the same way there will be two types of people that read this article:

A - The ones that look at that photograph and try to figure out how much money I’m holding in my hands (completely irrelevant - smile you’re on camera :)…

B - And then the ones that will aim to understand this message and take another perspective on money, and their life as a result.

Which in itself is massive.

For those of you on this "B" thought...

Whom Do You Want To Become?

That's the question I pose to you today: Which one of those people do you choose to be?

Every day…?

Food for thought.

Behind scarcity is fear -- the energy that keeps you anxious, worried, stressed, and in fight/flight mode. Thank you for this article - I am definitely a "Be" person ??

I like the term emotional money. We we integrated those scarcity feelings, we become more rich.

I love this message. Money is merely a means to security-- it can't buy happiness without knowing how to use it. ?? ??

Totally agree Gonzalo. Once you have enough to meet the essentials of life, more money does not bring more happiness.
