As climate records are shattered and emissions continue to rise, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres is delivering a major address on the state of the climate and the urgent steps that need to be taken to salvage humanity’s chances of a livable future.?
In his speech, the Secretary-General lays out some hard-hitting truths about the risks all people, everywhere face due to the undeniable changes we are witnessing as a result of the climate crisis. He addresses what companies and countries — particularly the G7 and the G20 — need to do in the short term to protect our shared future.
The science is clear: to avert the worst impacts of climate change and preserve a liveable planet, global warming needs to be limited as much as possible and as a matter of urgency.?
Every fraction of a degree of warming matters. With every additional increment of global warming, changes in extremes and risks become larger.

2 个月Unfortunately the UN is still pushing the climate change panic button. So far all predictions have failed to come true. If you look at the information from ice cores in Greenland the world the world has been much hotter in the past and this coincided with prosperity and development. On carbon. If you, again check the information from the ice cores, the most prolific time for life and new species in our past coincided with the highest levels of carbon dioxide in our atmosphere. ALL LIFE on our planet is CARBON so if we demonise carbon we are demonising all life on our planet. Why? Could it be to produce fear for control. Who is funding this and why? In my life, according to the so called experts, the world should have come to an end at least 7 times. When sea levels didn't rise as predicted the focus went to global warming but that has been debunked so the it changed to climate change. A safe bet because the climate is fluid and changes constantly. Fear not fact. The science doesn't support these predictions of doom. The latest is that we could be entering another ice age! What happened to global warming and sea level rises. Our planet changes constantly. That's life.

3 个月In order to eliminate the heat of the earth and reduce the greenhouse effect, communities and countries must be obliged to expand tree planting, because preventing pollution is not an easy task.
