Here's How We Are Ensuring Our Communities Are Mentally Strong

In recognition of World Mental Health Day, we emphasize the importance of mental well-being for parents and children. With this objective, we conducted a comprehensive webinar focusing on the pivotal role parents play in early childhood education. This event highlighted the significance of socio-emotional learning (SEL) and delved into the science underpinning the mental and emotional growth of children under six.

Catalyzing SEL needs behavior and mindset change, and our recent "Super Dads" behavior change campaign, dedicated to amplifying the crucial roles of fathers in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), resonated profoundly with over 35,000 parents on its launch day! This remarkable response serves as a testament to the power of collaboration, reinforcing our commitment to weaving a tapestry of holistic support for young minds as they embark on their educational odyssey.

The Impact of Social and Emotional Learning on Children's Mental Well-being

Social and emotional learning (SEL), vital for child development, supports children under six. SEL includes skills like understanding emotions, empathy, and decision-making. These skills can be learned formally in schools and informally in the community.

India’s National Education Policy 2020 not only acknowledges but wholeheartedly endorses the profound impact of SEL on the holistic development of a child. SEL acts as a bridge, assisting young minds as they transition into formal schooling, manage their emotions, and cultivate the academic competencies that will serve them throughout their lives.

Within the vast and diverse landscape of India, the mental well-being of children has emerged as a growing concern, particularly among those dwelling in impoverished circumstances with limited access to both education and healthcare resources.

It is in these underserved communities that Rocket Learning takes up the mantle, channeling its energies towards children who are in most need interventions. We seamlessly weave SEL into our curriculum, creating a synergy that not only promotes academic success but also fosters the mental and emotional well-being of our students.
