Here’s how not to be a slave of your phone.

I don’t need to mention that The Phone is the new form of slavery in the 21st century.
I know it can also be a booster of your productivity.
But in the life of most entrepreneurs and coaches it has become more of an enemy than a friend.
Here are 4 amazing recommendations to be a friend a not a slave of your cell phone:
1. PUT IT FAR AWAY
Having it so close can be really tempting. If you want to really push your body and mind to only focus on that project you must work on, then it is worth it creating the proper environment for it.
When I say far it’s something like:
? In the car while you are in the office.
? In a drawer on the first floor if you have your office on a second one.
? Inside a wardrobe that’s 500 feet away from you.
? Inside the refrigerator…
Okay that would be too much, but you get the idea.
You will do nothing more than focus on that one project you are working on.
2. RULE FOR ANSWERING CALLS
In my case, I have a rule that I only answer phone calls from: team members, family members (applies for close friends), co-workers and clients…
...people who are in those categories know that I always respond immediately or at least as soon as possible.
Other than that, I kindly ask the people calling me to leave a message to see if we can be have a call on that.
It would be worth considering having a rule for answering the phone in your life.
3. RULE FOR USING IT IN THE MORNING
As you may have heard, the way you use your first hour of the day is how your whole day is going to be.
Having that said, it is highly important to establish a rule in which for the fist‘’x’’ number of hours of the day you won’t even touch your phone. That way you are sending a message to your subconscious mind that you are not a slave of it and are in control.
In can be a fixed rule (eg. I never see my phone until 9:00 AM) or it can be a changeable one.
4. TRADITIONAL ALARM
Coming from our last idea, I understand that for some people it is extremely hard not to check the phone first thing in the morning.
Do you know why?
Well, the Facebook, Tik Tok or Instagram logos are there and it is so ingrained in the brain to touch those logos whenever you see them.
If this resonates with you, having a traditional alarm to wake you up is such a powerful idea...
… you leave your phone far away charging and when the alarm goes on in the morning, you won’t be around the temptation of checking social media and maybe wasting 1-2 hours.
This is revolutionizing the lives of thousands of people.
