Here’s How to Show Your Employees You Really Care

To run a business, of course you need to direct and correct the performance of your staff -- but there’s more to it than that.
Bringing people onto your team to help you meet your goals means you’re asking them to devote their time handling your business as if it was their own, and for such a relationship to work on both ends, those people need to know that you’re looking out for them as well..
For an employee, it can be disheartening at best to put forward a sustained or special effort for your boss’ benefit and not feel properly appreciated. As management, in order to create a company culture where the team brings their best care, thoughtfulness and dedication to work, you need to seek out, nurture and celebrate those very qualities.
Make sure to pay attention to those that help you and encourage more of what you want to see by highlighting examples of good work and creating a supportive environment:
● Personally appreciate and publicly acknowledge notable progress, positive attitudes and milestone achievements among your team. Consider how to make your thanks tangible and in proportion to the value to the company that you’re rewarding.
● Encourage teamwork at all levels of your organization and pay attention to the needs of your staff, removing bottlenecks and pain points to support the thinkers and doers with the tools and resources they need to do their best work
● Promote a sense of belonging and a safety net by providing health coverage to yourself and your team. Healthy employees not only take fewer sick days, they’re happier, more productive and less likely to move on to another job.
Building a great team makes all the difference in the long run, so don’t overlook these important aspects of business ownership or team leadership. They’ll serve you well, too!

3 年No one will love your business the way you do, Christopher. But you can still create a workplace that employees love. Great tips.
