Here’s to the Curious Ones
Have you ever felt that spark of discovery when you come across something new and challenging—yet immediately want to dive in deeper? We live for that spark. If you're reading this, there's a good chance that you do, too.
Here at our scrappy little office in Calgary, we're obsessed with taking math, science, and engineering to new places—and we field-test these innovations in the housing industry. We're talking multivariate time-series prediction, causality inference, simulations, and beyond. We don't just slap on a machine learning library and call it a day. We dig deeper, building products around stochastic modelling, Monte Carlo techniques, Convergent Cross-Mapping, SINDy, and many more.
If what we do piques your interest, or if you simply love pushing the frontiers of technology, then read on. The people here didn't start out as experts in everything we do (no one does). We depend on one superpower: our ability—and excitement—to learn quickly. Because we're just as curious and driven as you are, and figuring things out is half the fun.
We've got a hands-on culture where theories aren't just theories; we turn them into real products that make a tangible difference. It's not about who has the fanciest degree or how many years we have worked elsewhere—it's about being open to building cool stuff, asking questions, and having the courage to solve problems no one's tackled before.
As for you, you know who you are. You bring a rare combination of research, engineering, and quant skills. You don't just use cutting-edge methods; you write the code that brings them to life, and you do so with passion. You're probably the best engineer among quants or the best quant among engineers. Above all, you're insatiably curious. It's more than just a job for you; it's about diving deep into problems that matter and building solutions that push boundaries.

Not everyone reading this is looking for a change. After all, you might be perfectly satisfied with your current work. Or perhaps you're feeling stuck—facing endless rejections simply because you "don't have experience," even though all you need is one chance to prove yourself. Maybe you're feeling trapped in a corporate bureaucracy or working under a manager who doesn't speak the same language and can't quite see your brilliance. You're itching to do something big, like tackling hardcore research, shipping impactful products, and seeing the direct results of your work. You wonder, as we once did, what else is out there.
If this resonates with you, let's grab a coffee—or a beer—trade stories and chat about how we're transforming the global housing industry right here in Canada. I'll share how we're shaking things up as other trailblazers have done in their fields, and I'd love to hear your perspective and learn about your journey, too.
Thanks for reading, and I hope our paths cross soon.
