I feel I may end up railing on about this until kingdom come. I just don’t know what happened. It's standard grammar. It's how the language works. We all know about conjugating according to number with the verb TO BE.?We write endless papers throughout our years of schooling and are corrected and graded on them to make sure we get the grammar right.
Are there any eggs??There’s one left. There are two left.?
But I hear more commonly these days- There’s two left.?
Seriously??
I’m talking about native English speakers here.?I get that it comes out when you’re speaking.?Because we use contractions when speaking, it’s easier to say there’s than there’re and here's than here are.?But why, oh why when you’re writing?
Does no one take the time to proof his writing anymore?
I’ve actually thanked people for using the correct there are or there’re. I know I know it may sound it extreme ?? but, from the heart, I really mean it!
There’s with the plural and here’s with the plural ad infinitum ??

So, my dear Speakers of English as a foreign language, please, please do better.
If it’s a singular noun, use IS.
If there’s an S, it’s plural. Use ARE.
Remember, we've got irregular plurals, too, like people or men or children. Use ARE.
If it’s a noncount noun like coffee or advice or feedback, use IS.
There’s six people in the hall or here’s five bananas?... If it comes out when you’re speaking, don't sweat it. If you write it and publish it, it’s careless.
