The all new update of LinkedIn is a Bad UI & Bad UX as well. Also, personally I have reduced the usage of LinkedIn to almost 70% on web. Also this update & transformation was partly done for some users & were stopped from implementation on others. As a designer & static developer, I know that they might have faced some bugs or other technical issues. But after the spread news about Microsoft buys LinkedIn, users knew many things would get change - In terms of Design, Performance & Features.
Then after using for the first time, I have experienced the below points. First Impression plays an important & long term role.
- Over optimized Menu Bar
- The Dark grey background was much better (LinkedIn is it like change the color = New Design?)
- Prolonged loading time
- Loading Data UI nothing new, LinkedIn using same Animations that Facebook & others are had already adapted a year ago
- Pulse is Turned to post (Article) & users are unable to see as to where it is now (its like dig it out yourself & don't tell others)
- A New Design is expected to be fast & loaded with new features, where as the previous design of LinkedIn one was quick enough & was loaded with features
- People & Company Search is pushed to more click events for Users to do a simple thing
- The feature of Download profile as pdf is also waved off (Added 3 Weeks Later )
- Profile photo pop-up has a fixed closed button on the left, where the world has click anywhere else to close
- Withdraw a request has become painful - No Multi select, have to forcefully do individually / manually
- User navigation is optimized way too much by removing direct link to specific page
- Ugly icons (like, comment, share)
- Unwanted Advertisement Text above feeds (Practically 0.3% is the click ratio)

8 年added to that..its difficult to figure out things easily.. I am sure LinkedIn might have done various ui/ux testing with some real users as well.. and we don't know what data points lead them to make it differently... what is important to you may not be to others.. said that, I would agree on your points..

8 年between the old and new design, I found identifying the location of a potential role in the job visibility difficult to see as I'm cascading down the list in the new design. it wasn't immediate when searching for my connections. Who knows new UI, new learning curve lol.

8 年I'm annoyed that when you go to "My Network," the 'people you may know' takes center stage and occupies most of the screen instead of a listing of my network - for that I have to click on a link in a small box on the left of the 'my network' page - didn't I start out by clicking "My Network" to begin with??
