Here are 9 ways to be more positive and create powerful energy.

I have noticed over the past several years some incredibly strong people struggling with staying positive during these difficult times.

Prolific job loss.? Lack of certainty.? COVID 19.? Poor leadership with lack of vision.? Social and political unrest.? It’s understandable that so many people feel lost and lack confidence in the future.

When someone is feeling pessimistic the last thing they need to hear is “cheer up” or “look on the bright side”.

Once we start drifting in a negative direction, our internal discourse becomes clouded, and our conversations become hopeless.? It’s difficult for people to see the “bright side”, and often shut down when people tell them to “be positive”.

Many people reiterate negative noise that reaffirms lack of focus and loss of ambition.? We create a cauldron of despair that forces us to see only limitations and not the possibilities.

When we tumble into the abyss of negative thinking, seeing any opportunities can be nearly impossible.

So how do we stop ourselves from letting negativity dominate our thoughts?

“The only place where your dreams become impossible is in your own thinking,”

Here are 9 ways to be more positive and create powerful energy:

Why me

A pessimist will often ask themselves why me?? Why did this happen?? Why do bad things always happen to me?? An optimist frames the situation differently.? They ask, “what can I learn”?? Thinking positive is often as simple as asking the right questions and appreciating life doesn’t happen “to us” our response is what matters.? ?????


Atmosphere

Many people are surrounded by negativity.? Negative people at work. Negative partners.? Negative friends.? No surprise, feeling negative comes naturally for them. ??We need to surround ourselves with quality individuals and strengthen our core group of friends.? Spend less time on social media sparring with strangers over politics.? We need to fill our mind with positive thoughts.

Gratitude

The fastest way to change your mood is to be grateful.? Gratitude is a daily practice that requires intention.? Each day it should be easy to find three things we can be grateful for.? Health.? Family.? Work.? A dog that wags its tail.? Make expressing gratitude a habit and your life will change.

Health

One of my four tenets of equanimity is focusing on health, mentally and physically.? In fact, it’s the most important tenet in my opinion.? Maintaining a regular exercise routine and making wellness top priority is key.? The benefits of daily exercise are well documented and it’s a great way to relieve stress.? Make health top priority and our disposition becomes much more positive.

AM attitude

Start each day right with a morning routine that sets the tone for success throughout your day.? Ease into your morning with some writing, meditation or whatever gets your mind in the right place.? Nourish your body right and get some big items crossed off your "to do list". Exercise if you can in the morning so you make sure you get it done.

“What is the difference between an obstacle and an opportunity? Our attitude toward it. Every opportunity has a difficult, and every difficulty has an opportunity.”??

Solutions

As I alluded to, negative people focus on the problem.? Optimistic people concentrate on the solution and they understand the anatomy of making good decisions.? I've written some articles on LinkedIn about making good decisions.? It might be helpful to review them.? Learn to rely on good judgement, to focus on the solution and take small steps consistently to address the situation.


Alleviate

Worry often starts to escalate into a never-ending stream of negativity.? We manufacture worst case scenarios that never materialize.? When we act and focus on solutions, we alleviate the need to worry and feel paranoiad.? It also helps to take inventory of how many times in the past our worries never came to fruition.?

Perfection

Perfectionism can create a plethora of problems that prevent success.? Fear of doing poor work prevents people from getting started.? Fear of failure is often the cause of idleness.? Appreciating setbacks are inevitable and stumbling is part of the process, gives us perspective on the long-term process of doing extraordinary work.?

Strong

Many people give up way too easily and lack the stamina to make big dreams a reality.? In a world of immediate gratification and entitlement, people have unrealistic expectations and cave into the promises of social media and politicians that offer fairness and instant success.? Success starts with personal responsibly and focus.? When we have a goal, we need to stay determined and never give up.? The approach may change, the objective doesn’t.????
