Use case: a holistic bank branch with a focus on sustainability, social values, and neighborhood enrichment
Invited by Sparkasse Hannover to create a new concept for their bank branches with numerous consultation rooms and back offices, we have embarked on a journey to revitalize and repurpose their facilities, redefining the role of a savings bank in the digital age. ????
Our vision goes beyond financial matters, aiming to create an open and inviting space that fosters social networking, participation, and exchange at a local scale. Here's a glimpse into the transformative features and services we've implemented:
- ?? Redefining Public Spaces: Free services such as a bicycle pump or a charging station for e-bikes and e-cars are offered even before the door. Indoors, the ground floor provides inviting areas for informal exchange and lingering. Picture a large dialogue table with bar stools, a cozy lounge with a coffee bar, and a forum inspired by ancient arenas for special events. Acclaimed graphic artist Jan Kruse has expertly crafted large wall graphics showcasing district attractions to celebrate the local community.
- ?? Enriching the Neighbourhood: Embracing the spirit of collaboration, the entrance houses an open "Marketplace" concept. Local associations, initiatives, and tradespeople are invited to exhibit their products, host events, and engage with visitors, fostering a vibrant sense of community. This inclusive space is a hub for workshops, readings, concerts, and discussions, creating a dynamic atmosphere for all.
- ?? Customer-centric interior: We have meticulously designed several individual consultation rooms that cater to diverse banking needs. From specialized spaces like "Build-up" for construction financing to the youth-friendly "Good advice," we aim to provide personalized experiences. In the cozy "Linden Living Room," customers can comfortably plan their future, immersing themselves in a homely atmosphere.
- ?? Transparent and Versatile Spaces: We believe in transparency and collaboration and have embraced wide glass walls in our advisor rooms. These innovative spaces offer privacy through specially developed screens while maintaining an open ambiance. The versatility of our modular interior system allows for adaptable spaces that suit different target groups and consultation tonalities.
- ?? Employee-centric design: Our interior concept also caters to the well-being of our dedicated team. Employees can enjoy a versatile kitchen in the mezzanine for cooking, eating, and internal meetings. We've also created a team lounge, providing a serene environment for relaxation and rejuvenation. A comfortable workspace fosters creativity, ensuring our employees feel as comfortable as our visitors and clients.
- ?? Cradle to Cradle Approach: Sustainability is at the heart of our design philosophy. Following the "cradle to cradle" concept, we carefully selected materials that can be easily returned to the material cycle, creating an ecological balance. Our branch features C2C-certified walls and floor coverings, furniture crafted from partially recycled and reusable materials, and fixtures made from renewable resources. By choosing these eco-friendly options, we contribute to a greener future.
Our sustainable and community-centric concept is now being rolled out step by step. For this purpose, we have created a comprehensive room book and engineering documentation, which helps to adapt our vision to various sizes of locations.
