Here are 5 Tips to Sleep Well
Have you ever slept so well that you woke up not remembering where you are?
That’s what we aim for in our conference venues and hotels, because just one bad nights’ sleep can have a massive effect on your mood and your performance.
“4 in 10 adults said that poor sleep had made them feel more stressed and overwhelmed”
It’s our mission to consistently deliver fabulous meetings, dining, and sleep; that’s why we teamed up with sleep scientists from Loughborough University’s Clinical Sleep Research Centre to come up with some handy tips to maximise your performance with a fabulous nights’ sleep whilst away on a conference.?
Routine
Try to maintain your pre-bedtime routine whilst you’re away from home. Your routine is important as it acts as a behaviour cue for sleep to readily occur.
Unpack
Take the time to set out your belongings around the room, to help you feel more settled and relaxed in an unfamiliar room.
Room conditions
Set the air-conditioning/heating and lighting in the room before you leave. Coming back to a cool room that’s dimly lit will help sleep occur more readily.

Home comforts
Remember to bring items from home with you such as photos, blankets, or even your pillow to help you feel more comfortable in your hotel room.
The bed is for sleeping only!
?It's tempting to watch tv, read, or work in bed but these activities can make falling asleep a lot harder. Your body needs to associate the bed with sleep, not being awake. Make use of the desk space.
As part of our Mission to provide fabulous meetings, dining, and sleep to our guests, we’ve been running our Sleep Well campaign which includes furnishing our clients with tips on how to sleep better whilst on the road, plus a wonderful relaxing pulse point and a relaxing pillow mist.
You can’t underestimate the importance of great rest before a big day, as testified by Catriona at Edge Venues.
“I try so many different products to help me sleep but your pulse point balm and pillow spray is the best so far. I sleep so soundly and feel so much better in the morning, ready for whatever the day brings.”
But our obsession with helping people to Sleep Well wouldn’t be much good without a great bed to melt into at the end of the day! That’s why we also launched our “Operation Good Night” this Autumn which has seen us replace all mattresses and pillows in our 185 bedrooms at Burleigh Court Conference Centre and Hotel.?
It’s a simple Mission but we’re determined to help people Meet, Eat, and Sleep Well to give fabulous experiences in a place where people love to be!
