Here Are 5?? Things You Need to Know

  • LinkedIn:?What can we say? LinkedIn has virtually no competition when it comes to B2B marketing. The ease of finding connections within your target industry, and the ability to set yourself as a thought leader with a more scholarly, educational flair, makes LinkedIn pretty much a must-have.
  • TikTok:?TikTok has over?700 million users?worldwide and counting—it’s not real estate your brand can really afford to avoid. If you can manage to go outside the box and play by the rules of TikTok (no salesy content) you do have the potential to strike it big.
  • Facebook:?You just kinda have to have a Facebook account. The app downloads for the platform are dwindling and, unless your?audience skews older?you probably won’t see a huge return from it, but it’s something that’s expected of a legitimate business. That is to say, it looks bad if you don’t have one.
  • Instagram:?Because of the sheer number of users, even if you think you’re not an image-centric brand, you can still use Instagram to display a sense of community among your brand. Share stories from your followers or pictures of your team goofing off in the breakroom.
  • Reddit:?Whether or not Reddit is an appropriate venue for marketing is a bit of a controversial topic. There are?plenty of campaigns that have succeeded there,?but it takes a savvy strategist and writer to communicate with Redditors in a way that won’t get you booed off the platform. That said, if your brand is personality-driven and knowledgeable in a niche subject, a?Reddit AMA?might give them the boost they’re looking for!

Do you agree with our five choices? What would you pick if you were creating your own list?__________________________________________________________________________

What’s better than going viral?

“Make me go viral” is a common request among clients, especially startups who are eager to get their social media presence rolling. The thing is, as?this DigiDay piece?points out...going viral isn’t a strategy.

There are a lot of components to viral content and very few of them can be relied on to produce an internet sensation on command. “Memability” and the potential for audiences to react or parody the initial video plays a huge factor in what takes off, and this is largely by coincidence.

Video-based social media like TikTok, Twitch, and Snapchat can be used to push your content towards that viral goal, however. Travel and booking website?Hotwire?is tailoring its content to newer social media channels and the Gen Z kids who use them. How? By using the lingo of the platforms: challenges and influencers.

Take a look at Hotwire’s recent campaign and think about how you could incorporate these strategies into your own marketing. As the Zoomer generation enters adulthood—hooking them now could be the key to a loyal audience later.
