Last week, we ordered takeout from a tiny Korean restaurant, Mandu. The place was a few blocks away, and we had never visited before. Never looked it up online, never saw an advertisement, never had a friend tell us about it or even checked out its reviews.?

But for the third time in a month, as we drove by, there was a line of at least 25 people long waiting to get into it.?

That? That told us all we needed to know.?

It was DEEEEE-LICIOUS. And we’ve already told three people about it.

The Psychology of Decision-Making

The human brain loves a shortcut. We thrive when decisions can be made on the spot; we take in information en masse (like the line forming not once but multiple times outside Mandu).?

Fundamentally, we’re wired for community and connection–which means we naturally look to the behavior and experiences of others to guide our choices.
