Heneken acquires Slovak producer of aluminium conductors

Bratislava, Slovakia - 20th November 2020 - Slovak producer of overhead conductors Laná, a.s. is acquired by Heneken. Along with plants for aluminium and zinc manufacturing Heneken penetrates industry with production of higher added value. ?I see significant potential and robust demand for these conductors not only on the markets of Central and Eastern Europe but also Central Asia and other CIS countries. We possess modern technology generating higher added value and we employ well experienced staff. Our team in Bratislava consists of 20 experienced traders who are ready to take advantage of this opportunity”, claims Michal Hudoba, CEO of Heneken. Preparations and successful completion of acquisition was executed by lawyers from USGB and M&A advisory was provided by KPMG in Slovakia.

Laná, a.s. is a Slovak manufacturer with a legacy stretching over more than five decades. The production plant is located in the aluminium cluster in ?iar nad Hronom (ZSNP). The portfolio of the company contains drawn aluminium wires, aluminium conductors and seamless aluminium tubes. The company supplies mainly national transmission and distribution companies in Central Europe.

Heneken – founded in 2007 – has subsequently promoted to leading traders on the market of non-ferrous metals. As a significant Slovak exporter, Heneken group encompasses three production plants in Slovakia, though the core business is still based on trade with non-ferrous metals. Heneken runs its operations with the support of its offices in Turkey and Serbia, employs more than 200 people and achieves annual turnover reaching 150 million euros.
