Hendricks Isle Experiencing a Renaissance
Hendricks Isle in Fort Lauderdale's Las Olas Isles is experiencing something of a renaissance. Long a collection of quaint motels and apartments for both snowbirds and locals alike it is seeing a rebirth as many new construction projects have been completed and many more are under construction. The building boom began around 2003 with buildings like Reflections of Las Olas and La Maison Blanche to name a couple. 2004 brought us Terraces of The Isles and Laguna Del Sol In 2005 Landings at Las Olas and Place Des Arts joined the scene. 2006 saw the construction of Meritage and The Club at Hendricks Isle 45 Hendricks and Aria at Las Olas was offered in 2008. After a temporary lull due to the market decline it has taken off again. We saw Aquavita break ground in 2013. While the project was put on hold it roared back to life in 2015 alongside Aquavita Las Olas. The latest project, Aqua Marina was welcomed to the neighborhood this year. While you can still find the occasional sea faring old timer still living aboard their sailboats, Hendricks Isle isn't quite what it used to be.
