DIVING STATUS is a marine contractor specialising in underwater inspection, maintenance and repair. In addition to its diving services, DIVING STATUS manufactures underwater hull cleaning equipment and custom-made tools such as net cutters, poker gauges and brow stands.

For how long has DIVING STATUS been a member of HEMEXPO?

DIVING STATUS has been a member since 2019.

What is your flagship product?

The 2nd Gen Brush-Kart System - an underwater grooming/cleaning machine with a unique and modern design capable of outstanding performance for the efficient and safe removal of bio fouling from vessels. It is the second generation of the very popular Brush-Kart system but with an improved design, speed, effectiveness and ease of use. Designed for fast and efficient cleaning of all surfaces such as steel, aluminium, fiberglass, wood etc., it is hydraulically powered and diver operated. The 2nd Generation Brush-Kart remains the leader in underwater hull cleaning worldwide.

What percentage of your business is exports? To which countries are you mainly exporting to?

90% of our business is exports. Our main export countries are Korea, Germany, India, Sudan and Turkey.

Can you please tell us about a project you have worked on recently?

BIMCO led an industry working group that has developed an industry standard on in-water cleaning with capture that was published in January 2021. This industry standard represents the best biofouling management practice available today and will help to ensure that the in-water cleaning of a ship's hull, and niche areas including the propeller, can be carried out safely, efficiently and in an environmentally sustainable way.

Taking into account shipowners’ sustainability commitments to promote environmentally responsible operations, we are developing a state of the art underwater hull cleaning and waste management system called ECOHULLCLEAN, which is capable of:

(a) capturing the bio fouling that is removed from vessels’ hull during underwater hull cleaning (b) separating bio fouling by returning water free of any alien invasive species to the sea; and (c) managing bio-waste properly for the purpose of processing and utilizing it wherever possible.

We believe the ECOHULLCLEAN system is the best solution to BIMCO’s industry standard on in-water cleaning with capture.
