Helping Vulnerable Populations With Vocal Risk Indicators
It’s time to share more about our latest achievement we announced in Singapore.
Creating a reliable risk marker to identify relapse and re-offense is complex — but it’s certainly not magic. We’ve put our vocal analytics to work in a powerful new way.
We’ve already shared the results, but how did we get there?
Starting with our core technology, we combined everything: personality traits, emotional and mental health indicators, and momentary sentiment analytics to generate behavioral predictions. Using our language-agnostic analysis, we’re able to overcome any biases arising from choice of words, accents, and gender. While we’ve applied this approach in finance, sales, and HR, opening a new front in relapse prevention has been especially rewarding.
After several months of collaborative research, data collection, and rigorous analysis, we’re proud to say we found the patterns we were looking for.
Just last week, we had the privilege of presenting our findings and results to Singapore’s Home Teams and HTX (Home Team Science & Technology Agency) at the Singapore Week of Innovation and Technology (SWITCH) event. We’re honored by the level of interest and inspired by the new ideas coming our way.

But results mean little without validation. Throughout this process, we gathered well-being and mental health assessments—such as GAD-7, PHQ-8, and TAPS—and meticulously cross-referenced our findings with these trusted measures.
Going forward, we’re excited to put this capability to even greater use. And it’s not just about the technology. This experience underscored the impact of language-agnostic vocal analysis, especially when combined with the expertise of top psychologists, ML experts, and signal processing professionals. Together, we’re making real strides in predicting future behaviors.

Special thanks to Hatch team for the support and for helping us make this a reality.
