Helping save lives!
I got this from a fellow Past President of the Eugene Active 20-30 Club, wanted to share it and ask for your help. Please contact Lane Bloodworks, Michelle or me if you have any questions.
Good afternoon, 20-30 Family!
I hope this message finds you all well and adapting to the new reality we find ourselves living in today. If you're like me, you may be sequestered at home wondering what you can do to help.
Our community is facing a significant blood shortage due to the rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation. The act of giving blood is still safe yet donors are staying home – and this puts our community supply at risk. BloodworksNW has canceled all bloodmobile drives in our area for the next few days to develop a blood donation strategy that adheres to social distancing guideline. YOU STILL CAN DO YOUR PART: BloodworksNW Lane Blood Center (2211 Willamette St., Eugene) is offering extended hours for donation. Please make an appointment to give blood by visiting BloodworksNW: https://schedule.bloodworksnw.org/DonorPortal/Schedule/DaySelect.aspx
I know some of you, like me, may not be able to donate (or you donated at the Club's last blood drive - THANK YOU!). However, if you could help me communicate this need to your family, friends, coworkers, employees, the stranger on the street you're distancing yourself from, etc. that would be just as helpful! Thank you for your help and consideration during these extraordinary times. Your contribution to our community does not go unnoticed!
Yours in Active 20-30,
Michelle Saunders
