We have just completed a 12 month program to introduce a new performance management system (Thrive) into our business and after what feels like lots of blood, sweat and tears it is in its first 3 months of operation.
The aim of course, is to help our people thrive, to set expectations both ways on what good looks like and to improve productivity and performance across our business.
What I love about Human Resources is that you can be passionate about doing what’s best for your people and affect business results at the same time, there is no feeling like it when you see the results of what you have worked on having a true business impact.
For us, it is about laying the foundations of a system that will grow, continually improve and give managers tools and support to be able to get the best out of people.
This year we also launched our Service Desk Academy to underpin this, which is something every service desk person here has access to in order to develop their skills, it includes active mentoring and ensuring we embed the learning which benefits our employees and the business, it has resulted in recent promotions and the opportunity here as we grow is something we want to offer every individual. We are busy putting more and more tools in place to ensure we can grow skills and we are just about to launch our first ever leadership development academy in partnership with Cardiff University, something we are very proud of.
Our leaders and managers are a committed bunch and we want them to grow with us and continue doing their best to support our people, this is a key part of our focus going forward.
On top of this the investment in Peakon as a ‘live look’ at how we are doing and as an action driving tool in improving even further, we are really, really, excited about the future here.
I love the various quotes you see re-posted around social media about taking care of your people to take care of your business, these come under various guises, but nothing is truer, and we know this.
The conclusion for me is that after a record-breaking year for Circle IT, we will remain committed to improving what we do to improve our employee experience at Circle IT because we know it makes sense, here’s to a great 2019!
