Hi, my name is Simon and I established the Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland Linkedin group several years ago to provide an opportunity for people from Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland to network and over that period we have gained over 1600 members and continue to share great content!
In that time, I have not requested anything from the Group members, however today I would like to ask for your support please. We are facing a period of our lives that no one has ever experienced, difficult & challenging times. I am sure that all of us wish to contribute in some way to help the many causes and I am sure many of us have already done so!
I Chair the Furnley House Foundation and we support improving and saving lives in the local community and wanted to do something specifically for Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland during the Covid-19 Pandemic, we wanted to ensure any funds donated by the Foundation are targeted and directed to the right places and spent in the right way. We are therefore supporting the Leicester Hospitals Charity who are ensuring funds go to the right place now working directly with the local NHS and Doctors and Nurses by raising funds for a project to supply everyone who is discharged from one of our Leicestershire Hospitals to receive an essentials pack for their first few days at home. As a Foundation we have contributed a substantial sum and are seeking support from the business community and people to help us in achieving our goal of ￡3000, at the time of writing we have raised over ￡1700!
If each person in this Group could contribute just ￡1 we would exceed our target, however being realistic, not everyone will see the article so if 25% or 400 people saw it and contributed ￡4.50 each we would get well beyond our objective.
