Helping our communities combat Covid-19

Notes from my gratitude journal??

As we look back on the last few months and the challenges of the second wave of COVID-19 in India, I would like to take a moment to express gratitude to my vast Accenture family in India and around the world. Thanks to their resilience, their compassion and their humanitarian spirit, we were able to help our colleagues and our communities during the worst stages of the ongoing pandemic—and will continue to do so going forward.?

This includes thousands of our people who volunteered to put together information resources, build technology solutions, raise funds for the families of deceased team members in India and extend support as mental health allies.?

I was also inspired and humbled by their generosity towards our communities. Globally, through substantial contributions from our people (which were matched equally by Accenture) we have donated to NGOs working at the forefront of COVID-19 relief in India, Brazil, the Philippines, South Africa and around the world.

As part of our broader commitment to COVID-19 relief, we also continue to work with 15 NGO partners across 18 states in India to:

·??????Build healthcare infrastructure: We are augmenting the capacity of government-run or charitable hospitals, especially in remote and rural areas, by strengthening emergency and critical care infrastructure by supporting 5,000+ beds with 30+ oxygen plants and other critical care equipment.??

·??????Reduce the strain on India’s healthcare ecosystem: We have distributed COVID-19 care kits and food supplies to 100,000+ people, and are extending home care services, and providing sustenance support such as food and rations, mental health counselling and care for the elderly. We are also training 100,000+ community health workers to provide medical guidance and care to 60 lac+ [6 million+] underprivileged families.

·??????Protect lives by containing the spread of COVID-19: We strongly support the scientific and public health advice that encourages vaccination and are advancing community vaccination efforts by sponsoring 50 lac+ [5 million+] vaccine doses across India, of which 10 lac+ [1 million+] have already been administered, and are building awareness to reduce vaccine hesitancy.??

Our work is far from over, and I want to thank our leadership in India and around the world, for continuing to support our people and our communities through this ongoing crisis. Thanks to their unending commitment and focus, our investments will make a positive impact on communities around India.??
