Helping Others

My friends and I started raising money about 20 years ago for a neighbor who had a down syndrome daughter who was diagnosed with cancer. They were struggling with the additional financial burden that came with caring for their sick daughter so we set a date for a golf tournament fund raiser. Unfortunately before we could have the tournament the young girl passed away. We had the tournament a couple days later and raised enough money to provide a funeral for her. Since then we have continued the tournament and created HLS Charities which is a 501 c 3 fully tax deductible charity. We normally do not pay medical bills as we feel there are other avenues for those expenses. We typically pay for a family’s essential expenses like car payments, rent, gas, electric and house payments. Sad to say over the 20 years we have paid for more funerals then you can imagine. I know we are all hit up for donations every day, so I understand if you already support others. I just wanted to tell you that we are out there providing help for others and would love to have you join us.
