It's time for LA to rise like a phoenix from the ashes

This week I want to introduce you to my client who is based in LA. She has a non profit and is helping people rebuild their lives after the wildfires in LA.

Jowell Doughly is originally from Los Angeles. Born and bred there her parents are from Syria and Lebanon. Her parents have always helped others and this rubbed off for her as she could see that people needed help in LA.

Jowell decided to throw an annual holiday fundraising party, that she named Midnight Wonderland, to aid The Midnight Mission in Downtown Los Angeles which has been helping homeless people get clean and back on their feet in LA since 1914. Jowell has hosted many events to raise money and in 2021 she hosted Midnight Wonderland at the famous Whisky Go Go on Sunset Boulevard. This venue became very popular after bands like The Doors and Guns And Roses got their start there.

Since the fires happened just a few weeks ago Jowell, being an advocate of mental health awareness, is getting the word out about her mission to the world. She wants to raise money for people who have lost their homes in the fires and are struggling with the idea of future hope.

We've all seen the devastation there and it isn't just that people need somewhere to live they have lost everything. To have your life burnt to the ground not just one household but a whole community gone.

Jowell is organising another rock and roll fundraising event this July and many people in the area will be contributing things that can help the local community come together after the fires.

Music unites people and this will be such a great cause to help so many people who right now don't have a home, schools, shops or community.
