Helping Ft. Mac Rebuild

Fort McMurray has been knocked down, dragged out, but it's not out of the fight. Those of us who have worked there like me or who work in the coking industry undoubtedly know many people that call Fort McMurray home. Between the drop in crude prices and the recent fire, operators, maintenance contractors, engineers, and investors alike have seen their life's work put into question.

NY Mercantile Index of Crude is solidly rebounding from its lows. Lets hope the trend continues.....

This post was prompted by a recent photo montage by the Boston Globe showing the devastation.  Global News.ca speculates that parts of the city will stay abandoned in this article. What I know from my time working in Ft. Mac is the people and businesses there are resourceful. They will rebuild and thrive.

As an industry, we have the opportunity to improve efficiency, reliability, and safety of the upgraders, town, infrastructure, and community in a way that will make Ft. Mac more resilient for the next 100 years. If you are considering doing work there, now is the time to invest from a personal or business growth perspective.

If you know someone there... reach out to them with a phone call or email. Let them know you are thinking about them and their success. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, we will overcome.
