Helping Consumer Reports protect the country
Defending our country in cyberspace is an?all?hands on deck thing, just like in?WW2 everyone has a role to play. That's what the PauseTake9.org thing is about.
This requires help from both consumers and industry, and Consumer Reports is well positioned to do both.?
CR helped get Americans safer cars, and they remind us to buckle up. This latest initiative is part of the same tradition – getting companies to step up for cybersecurity, and educating regular people to stay safe online.?
I’m committed to helping CR advance critical consumer protections in the digital world -- from protecting Americans from cyber harms to rooting out the unfair biases of AI. We're under constant cyber attack, and there’s a flood of AI tools and money apps that promise big benefits for consumers. CR is doing the hard work to uncover hidden problems, test the guardrails, and advocate for improvements.?They've been evaluating the effects of technology for going on 100 years. They're seriously good at it.
Today, I announce a new grant of $5 million that will help CR’s vision of a digital marketplace where safety, cybersecurity, and transparency are standard across products and services, from connected devices and money apps to the newest AI agents.??
CR's investigations of cyber harms advocate for better products, and press governments for higher standards that put consumers first.?
Our PauseTake9.org efforts plays a big role in this
My role in this is minor, mostly I put my money where my mouth is, but like the Batman says, I'm not the nerd you want, but, I'm the nerd you got.

1 周Yes this is good investment in protecting the consumer. In todays economy people need this tool to further growth. I use Consumer Reports to see if there is any defects in products. I wrote reports for LG Electronics and Proform to improve the factory quality control.
