Helpful Tech Tips for Professionals Working from Home - Scanning
For many of us working remotely as a result of COVID-19 and the public distancing restrictions, we have had to come up with creative solutions to continue operations with minimal impact. If you do not have scanning hardware, we have you covered with a few of the tops applications that work on any smart phone or tablet.
CamScanner (https://www.camscanner.com/) - Available for Android users and it is FREE: Allows you to easily edit and adjust the high resolution images with cropping features, color, contrast and brightness ,etc. This application also allows you to collaborate with other users and you can share your documents easily using Google Drive, the Cloud, Dropbox, etc. The upgraded version offers even more features, but the standard free application works well for most users.
Evernote Scannable (https://evernote.com/products/scannable) - Available for Apple products, iPads and Iphones: FREE, user-friendly, and intuitive. This scanning application is as simple as they come, open the application, point and click. The application allows you to save scans directly to your Evernote account, but if you do not have an Evernote account then you can manually export them to your iCloud storage or the camera roll in your photo application. From there you can share those scans using e-mail applications or any other application on your phone.
Microsoft Office Lens (https://support.office.com/en-us/article/microsoft-office-lens-for-android-ec124207-0049-4201-afaf-b5874a8e6f2b): Available for Android users: FREE. Similarly to Evernote, it is a simple point and click application, but also allows for a number of editing features like cropping, color, etc. As this is a Microsoft based application, you can easily share scanned documents and add them to your OneDrive or OneNote account.
