Help Us Save Seawolf Hockey
Hockey is at the heart of Alaska and we are proud that the wonderful and industrious state is part of our territory. Almost 50 years ago, leaders in Alaska launched a dream of hockey at the University of Alaska Anchorage and for 42 years the green and gold of Seawolf hockey was on the ice. The future of the program is now on the line and we are committed to helping our hockey communities that are in need.
We want to support thriving hockey communities across our five-state region as the Kraken take to the ice.
The Seattle Kraken are proud to make a challenge gift of more than $150,000 raised from team and individual investors to Save Seawolf Hockey. We’re asking our fans and others in the hockey and Pacific Northwest business community to step up and join us in this effort. Learn more at saveseawolfhockey.com on how you can get involved. You can also text ‘UAAHOCKEY’ to 41444 to donate.

3 年This is an amazing effort and a huge step from the Seattle Kraken. Alaska Anchorage has been an amazing historical program in the last decade has been a great opponent for Bowling Green Hockey. It would be hard to see the Seawolves, or even the Nanooks lose either program. Thank you Seattle! #SaveSeawolfHockey

3 年UAA hockey is a vital part of building the best youth hockey programs in the state of Alaska. Alaska breeds internationally competitive players who have gone on to play in the NHL, and around the world. I was deeply influenced by it as an attendant for the Seawolves back in junior high, and as a competitive hockey player throughout my high school years. I still play now, even as an adult. At almost every step of the way, UAA influenced my youth hockey experience. From my coaches who were often UAA grads, to the UAA summer clinics at the campus, to the exciting level of talent they brought to the state during the D-1 seasons. One particular coach deserves national attention. Dennis Sorenson ‘84 has become the most influential coach in Alaska’s hockey community. There are many others who I owe a depth of gratitude for teaching me the game. Thank you for putting this out there, Tod.
