Help Us Protect Democracy: Supporting the Harris-Walz Campaign

Dear friends,

Since you’ve been reading about my fear and loathing of Trump for at least 7 years, you won’t be surprised to learn that I’ve been helping to raise funds, first for Biden and now FOR the Harris-Walz ticket.? In the beginning, it was almost dutiful, as I appreciated Biden as President and expected he would continue to promote policies I (mostly) endorsed.? But I came to believe that he could NOT carry on a winning campaign, and that the presidency, perhaps the Congress, and our democracy, would fall.?

And then Kamala Harris, and later, Tim Walz, emerged.? I do believe that they can and will win.? So I now am continuing my fundraising efforts in their names.

Their ascendency has breathed life and vigor, joy and energy into the campaign, giving hope that democracy as we know it and maybe as we long for it to be might be in our future.? At least that they will fight for it and for us.? And so far, the Harris-Walz campaign has been a tremendous success.?

Of course there’s a tough fight ahead.? We need to keep the upward momentum going.? We need ways to ward off all the MAGA dirty tricks.? And it would be great to win by enough to make their INEVITABLE post-election contestations irrelevant.?

There will be a continued need for funds over the next 82 days.? Funds to fuel on-the-ground state-wide organizing that will be necessary for victory, especially in the six or seven battle-ground states.? Funds to continue the terrific ads that have made the contrast between Harris-Walz and Trump-Vance so glaringly, PRECISELY clear.? Funds to enhance the data infrastructure needed for all this activity.
