Working at The Lang School is more than just a job, it’s being part of a community dedicated to seeing students thrive. Every day, we witness firsthand the incredible growth and transformation of our twice-exceptional (2e) students—kids who are both gifted and face learning differences such as ADHD, dyslexia, autism, anxiety, sensory processing challenges, and more. We see their breakthroughs, their struggles, and their resilience. We know what it’s like to work through tough days and push forward together.
At Lang, every team member, whether you are a part of leadership, operations, faculty, or the therapy team, plays a role in supporting our students. Each week, we all take turns helping with morning arrival, dismissal, and recess duties, ensuring that every student feels safe, supported, and connected. We don’t just stay in our own classrooms or offices, we show up for each other and for our students in every way possible. We have a group chat buzzing all day long, problem-solving, sharing ideas, and encouraging each other, because that’s what being a Langster is all about. You build relationships across grade levels, with families, and most importantly, with the kids who make this work so meaningful.
And our students? They are brilliant, passionate, and endlessly curious. Every day brings moments that remind us why we do this work, whether it’s a student stopping you in the hallway to share a fascinating fact about space, history, or some niche topic they’ve mastered, or helping a student transition when they’re having a tough moment. They open up about their passions, their ideas, and their lives in the most genuine ways. These interactions, big and small, make our work meaningful beyond measure.
We also understand the true cost of providing the specialized education and support our students need. We know what it takes to run a classroom: the cost of a desk, the price of a single field trip, the resources that make learning come to life. Every dollar adds up, and every opportunity we provide makes a difference. We submit the requests for approval, knowing how essential each expense is.
