Plastic waste is often burned in Uganda as a means of disposal

Help to reduce the amount of plastic waste being burnt in Uganda ????

Did you know? Sadly, over 90% of the plastic waste disposed of in Uganda is burnt, buried or dumped due to a lack of waste management systems. This poses a danger to both the environment and local communities.

However, this is your chance to help change this.

For the next 24 hours, we're?fundraising to establish new?Community Buy Back Centres?across Southern Uganda. Each of these simple sites empowers people to recycle and simultaneously earn an income from the process.

On average, each Buy Back Centre helps to safely recycle up 1.75 tonnes of plastic per month, whilst creating work for 25 people in their local area.

You can explore Uganda's plastic problem and our solution in this 1-minute video.

For a limited time, BigGive will match any donation you make to Eco Brixs, helping it to go?further and do more good.
