Help me redesign my website
Dan Ariely
I do research in behavioral economics and try to describe it in plain language. These findings have enriched my life, and my hope is that they will do the same for you.
Hello hello,
I think that my website needs a bit of a facelift, so I’ve created a contest on 99designs to design a new one.
Check out the contest right here, and apply if you’re up for the challenge!
Thanks and best wishes,
Dan Ariely
UPDATE: I needed to revise the contest so that it would be supported by wordpress. Please use the updated link above instead of the old link. Very sorry for the inconvenience and I look forward to your designs!
Creative Solutions for Strategic Impact
9 年While your brief asks for a modern, non-generic/template website, you may find that expecting such a result from a contest may prove the adage that you get what you pay for. As a published author, you might instead consider hiring a designer who will conduct an audit of your current site and other similar sites to then inform a bespoke solution that addresses your needs and establishes you as a "brand" in behavioral economics (i.e. an expert in your field). Yes, this will cost more. But a contest will likely only yield a facelift that is nothing more than skin deep. Perhaps this is all you need, but...you get what you pay for...Good luck.

9 年In fact, as Vicki suggests, this is indeed spec work. If you want to understand why it isn’t a good idea, here’s a short video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DsstOs-K7gk And like Vicki, I hope this is an experiment.
