It’s an exciting time for downtown Greensboro – with new real estate and infrastructure projects, and with new businesses!? With these developments to the downtown landscape come changes to the way we position and time NC Folk Fest activities – from set-up through the festival to break down.

Our volunteers are critical partners who bring the annual NC Folk Fest to life each September.?

The North Carolina Folk Festival is the 501c3 nonprofit organization that produces the annual NC Folk Fest, a 3-day, multi-stage, free-admission cultural celebration of folk and traditional arts in downtown Greensboro.? Each year we recruit 500+ volunteers, serving in roughly 20 roles, to make sure the NC Folk Fest runs smoothly and efficiently.

Our volunteers are donors who maintain and sustain us with their time, skills, and knowledge.

In collaboration with our year-round administrative staff and dozens of seasonal professional contractors, our volunteers donate just over 2,000 hours of their? time, skill, and knowledge to our organization.? In today’s valuation, that’s an equivalent of at least $55,260 dollars we would otherwise have to fundraise in order to maintain the scale and quality of service, hospitality, and barrier-free admission we provide to our artists, vendors, and audiences every year!
