Help! I need somebody... ?

Back in the 1990's and not long out of school, I worked in the film, TV and entertainment business. Also, prior to this, I worked in retail and customer service roles and then I worked as a band manager.

As well, I worked on advertising campaigns, supporting film directors, cinematographers, production companies and music licensing companies.

It was a very interesting life and I really learned a lot from the experience. I worked alongside consummate professionals, was second-in-charge in a number of organisations and worked very hard for other people's businesses, doing a lot of the legwork and helped to keep other people's businesses going. It was these days that taught me the most about Australian small business and how it worked.

In the 1990's there were lots of parties to go to, schmoozing and I was fortunate enough to go to a number of film premieres and work on some MAJOR projects. These days, post-COVID, this just doesn't happen UNLESS you push for it to happen.

Social media and COVID has REALLY CHANGED the networking environment.

So, why is this important for you to know about this?

I KNOW it's because I bring these 'old skool' skills forward into the new when I am running my own business now. We don't have to throw the proverbial 'baby out with the bathwater'.

I knew when I started my private practice in 2006 - after working in the therapy field for around 5 years, that it was going to be tough.

I armed myself with knowledge and I got to work. I brought my 'old skool' networking skills forward. I went out on coffee dates with local practitioners, other business owners and talked about what I was doing to almost everyone.

The days of working in the film business and big-time networking events really paid off - as I wasn't scared of meeting new people.

Over the past 16 1/2 years in business, both private practice and my company, I've found my old skool networking skills to be something that many people may not have experienced, or know how to do.

In the small business coaching I provide, I discuss with my coachees the nature and importance of networking. Of course, there's networking that you can do over social media, though nothing beats either phone calls, or in-person / face-to-face catch ups.

Isn't it important to work with someone who's 'been there, done that', when you're working with a coach?

So, I'm here to help your success as much as my own. I'm a professional helper, as well as a service industry professional - I'm here to serve you. Customer and client service seems to have died everywhere - though I'm all about serving you and providing the best possible service(s) based on feedback.

Due to my counselling, psychotherapy and coaching background - for over 20 years, as well as a previous career, I can help you whether you would like to change your career, start your own business, or work through your grief, loss or trauma issues in order to start a new life.

Your potential is what I see when you can't see it in yourself.

Butterfly Courage? is ALL ABOUT gentle, manageable changes for whatever the next stage of your life is - where you can find your wings to fly.

I have clients, customers, mentees, coachees and supervisees from all over the world - so I can probably help with something. I love being a helpful, useful and supportive human to others.

If you need help, I'm here. How can I help you today?
