I recently came across the term - AI Overwhelm. It refers to the feeling of being excessively burdened or stressed by the rapid advancement and abundance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies. It relates to a struggle to cope with the vast array of AI applications, prospects, and challenges.?
While the abundance of AI technologies might seem overwhelming, instead of closing your eyes to AI, we encourage you to open your mind to its possibilities!?
Below are practical steps to conquer AI Overwhelm to enable you leverage the potential of Artificial Intelligence:?
1. Embrace AI Gradually: Don't rush! Adopt a gradual approach to AI acclimatisation. Identify specific areas, pain points or processes in your work that could benefit from the introduction of AI technologies. Set clear goals of what you want to achieve with AI. Start small and expand the integration from there.?
2. Lookout for Learning Opportunities: Cultivate a growth mindset. Attend an AI webinar or workshop, take a short online course, join AI-focused groups and connect with AI experts online. Little bits of information here and there will improve your AI literacy, making you feel more confident and less consumed.
3. Seek Out User-Friendly Tools - You couldn't possibly use all the AI tools out there, so do some research to discover the most user-friendly and efficient tools commonly used in your field of work.?
4. Aim to Collaborate with AI: Consider AI as a partner that can augment your work. You don't need to concern yourself too much with the nitty-gritty of the technology. Focus on the features of an AI tool that enhance your capabilities. AI is not a replacement, it's an enhancer.?
Don't forget, you are the main character, AI is the sidekick. While you embrace the technology, don't lose your originality and stay ethical!

Is AI Making Us Lazy or Making Things Easy?
I am a bit torn on this one, so please, weigh in on this.
I typically use essays as part of recruitment assessments. So, I received some candidate essays for my review. As I read the first one, based on my instincts, or maybe experience, I felt it looked like it was written by a robot.
To feed my curiosity, I copied the text and pasted it into ChatGPT, asking if it wrote the essay, to which ChatGPT replied,
'Yes, I wrote the essay for you...'
My love for research prompts me to test assumptions, so I asked it again if it wrote the essay, this time removing the title of the essay from the text. ChatGPT replied in the affirmative,
'Yes, I did write the passage you provided...'
I am a die-hard fan of testing, so, I prompted once again, this time asking how much of the essay it had written. ChatGPT replied,
'I apologise for the confusion. The essay you provided was entirely generated by me. I apologise if my previous responses gave the impression that you had provided the essay.'
Still testing, I opened up another essay, which seemed to me to be personally written by another candidate. Again, to test my assumptions, I asked ChatGPT if it wrote this second essay, and it responded...
