MEET TRICIA O'CONNOR
Director of Content and Brand Strategy
Career Bio: I am an agile and versatile content marketing and brand strategy expert who excels at crafting clear creative narratives to drive brand awareness, lead growth, and media coverage. I am actively seeking a new role in content marketing. Industries of interest include health technology, legal marketing, and employee screening. I'm fond of helping businesses and startups establish content strategy and continuity.
My unique value as a trained journalist is my ability to prepare and execute strategic content marketing plans and materials that bridge the gap between growth and creative teams. I've partnered with physicians, toxicologists, attorneys, Chief Revenue Officers, and Chief Human Resource Officers to produce integrated communications strategies that harness customer and market psychology to advance business objectives. I believe in performing precise research, identifying credible sources, and transforming complicated subject matter into compelling content that drives product and pipeline.
I recently completed a strategic GoToMarket content plan resulting in rapid digital, brand, and media growth for a health technology company. Here are some of the projects I initiated and the resulting KPIs I achieved in my role as Director of Content and Brand Strategy at Hound Labs:
Developed a content calendar to manage the creation and deployment of hundreds of blogs, newsletters, webpages, and digital campaigns resulting in YoY increases in blog (1,000%) and newsletter (330%) subscriptions and unique webpage views (43%).\
Co-authored or ghost-wrote multiple thought leadership assets for Subject Matter Experts leading to more than 3,000 media mentions from 2021 - April 2024.
Accelerated lead conversion from 18% to 28% by tracking trends, leveraging data and analytics, and utilizing ABM principles to guide and inform content decisions optimized for audience engagement and customer acquisition.
Supervised a team of three writers and two designers. I miss them dearly!
Personal Bio: Those who know me best, call me TOC. Not to be confused with TOK of TIK TOK, this is pronounced as initials - T.O.C. I landed this name during my first gig at ESPNRadio where I wrote and produced a show called 'Expanded SportsCenter'. The nickname stuck, but luckily my children don't call me that. Although I do get the occasional, "Bruh." When they do that, I hand them a list of chores and then head out to one of my favorite hobbies - hitting the gym, playing pub trivia, taking an improv class, or reading a book. We live in the land of endless summer, which means we're always exploring new places and trying outdoor activities. Our latest love is surfing. It's pretty wild and a great lesson in healthy failure. Finally, I'm a cat person and I play drums. My fur balls love my practice sessions - lol.

QUESTION OF THE WEEK?
领英推荐
"I've just accepted my first manager position and I'm super excited. I have a team of 6 and just want to get this right so I can continue to get promoted. Any tips?"
1:1 AGENDA NEXT WEEK:
"Hello Bianca, It seems like you have experience with small businesses so I hope this question isn't too weird. I'm a small business owner and I love what I do. I have a small team of 12 and a few part time contractors. For the most part I think I'm a pretty good boss. I pay people fairly and we do mostly remote work so they have a lot of leniency when it comes to home life. I have needed to grow the team more and more and plan to hire AT LEAST 2-5 more people in the next 2 years, maybe more. Because of all this, I don't have a lot of time to talk about feelings or coddle people. I'm BUSY!! I'm hopeless when it comes to this stuff but I want to create a place where people want to work because I know that's how good people stick around. My assistant sends me stuff about "company culture" all the time and thinks we should do virtual happy hours or parties but that sounds so stupid to me. I think everyone is happy, although we have had some hires not work out. Any advice? Does my small business really need "culture"?"
