Help... Google Maps doesn't know where I should go, and I'm lost?!

I think we've all tried it. I know that I have.
You're in a - to you - new place and you have absolutely no idea how to get from point A to point B.
Then you pick up your phone, open the Google Maps app, only to realize that right now, the app doesn't really know where you are either.
It looks like what you see on the right here.
What do you do then?
Until now, you have had the option to re-calibrate your compass manually, by opening the app, click the blue dot, indicating roughly where you are and choose the option to calibrate your compass. as seen in the screenshot.
This would then prompt you to make gestures with your phone, letting the sensors in your phone understand your whereabouts.
Try it out if you haven't.
But now there is a new cat in town.
The option to calibrate, using Live View.
I have talked about live view, both on earlier posts and on our Podcast, The Map Shack.
Live View uses AR and image detection to understand your surroundings and it is a much more pleasing experience to use than standing in the middle of a new city, waving your phone around.
Try it out!
