Help Florida Reptiles: Support Operation RRRCORA

For a year and 7 months, I've been a strategic adviser to Swamp Girl Adventures, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Central Florida. The Executive Director, Kim Terrington, drew me in with her depth of compassion and commitment to animals that, to many of us, aren't the cutest or cuddliest on the planet but are nonetheless important contributors. Reptiles! (They are, as you may know, very abundant in my home state of Florida!!!)
Kim and her small team, comprised mostly of her family of four, are dedicated to conservation, community education, and the rescue and rehabilitation of reptiles. They are heroes in their own way because they sacrifice much to care for these widely misunderstood and undervalued animals when few others will.
People, veterinary clinics, and wildlife organizations all around Central Florida (and even at the state level) look to the Swamp Girl Adventures rescue, research, and rehab arm RRRCORA as a specialist and a resource when they find injured or sick animals of the cold-blooded variety. (Note for science nerds: They are not cold-blooded, but ectothermic!) And the volume of space, equipment, and licenses Kim and her family must maintain to do this important work is mind-boggling.
Now Kim wants to take the next step in the evolution of her organization and care for these animals by acquiring or developing a facility to serve the mission in a bigger and better way. (Her family's home and land can only accommodate so many gopher tortoises and it's getting crowded in there!). I invite you to visit this webpage with a fundraising campaign dedicated to this purpose to learn more about the effort and to consider contributing your time, talents, and/or treasure.
