Help Army Intelligence Veteran in Last Chance to Beat Pancreatic Cancer

Kevin Margulies has dedicated 18 years to serving the United States Army, driven by an unwavering sense of duty, passion, and calling. Enlisting in 1995 as a microwave systems operator and maintainer, Kevin's journey began at Fort Meade, where he played a crucial role in providing all-source intelligence as a member of the 742nd Military Intelligence Battalion and the 109th Military Intelligence Group. His expertise took him overseas, where he supported the National Security Agency by building vital communication systems and infrastructure.

In 2006, Kevin transitioned to a military intelligence analyst, leading to a 15-month deployment supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. From March 2007 to April 2008, he was stationed at FOB Hammer in Iraq. Tragically, Kevin's deployment was cut short by two months to care for his mother, who had been diagnosed with end-stage breast cancer. Despite his efforts, she passed away.

Undeterred, Kevin redeployed to the rugged mountains of Kabul, Afghanistan. There, he assisted in NATO operations and intelligence collections at Camp Eggers. Unfortunately, physical injuries sustained during his service forced Kevin into a medical retirement just two years shy of completing his twenty-year career.

Fast forward to early 2023, and Kevin knew something wasn't right. He felt off, and his health seemed to be rapidly deteriorating. Breathing became a struggle, and he felt an alarming tightness in his chest. Concerned, Kevin went to his doctor, who ordered a series of tests to get to the bottom of his symptoms.

The news was grim. Imaging revealed blood clots lodged in both of Kevin's lungs—a severe and life-threatening condition. However, the doctors discovered something even more devastating: over 60 lesions on Kevin's liver.

Kevin was immediately hospitalized for further evaluation. An endoscopy was performed, revealing the heartbreaking truth: the cancer had not originated in his liver. It had spread there from another primary site. In October, Kevin was diagnosed with stage IV metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma.

A port was placed in Kevin's chest as his wife Nancy and their two young daughters looked on, their faces etched with worry. Kevin faced 16 grueling rounds of chemotherapy at MD Anderson, where he received world-class care and the best treatments available. Despite the odds, Kevin's determination and the support of his loved ones saw him through each challenging session.

After completing chemotherapy, Kevin felt a sense of victory. However, this triumph was short-lived. Just a few weeks ago, his doctors delivered devastating news: Kevin's cancer antigen levels had spiked from 105 to 404, a stark contrast to the expected level of under 35. This significant increase indicated that the cancer was aggressively progressing.

Kevin's medical team has now given him only months to live, with minimal treatment options left outside of maintenance chemotherapy. Despite this heartbreaking prognosis, Kevin's fighting spirit remains unbroken.

That is when Kevin reached out to us at HunterSeven Foundation in a last-ditch effort to stay on earth with his family. Desperate for a solution, Kevin discovered the Williams Cancer Institute , renowned for pioneering intratumoral immunotherapy with pulsed electric field and cryoablation.

Filled with renewed hope, Kevin made a consultation appointment and prepared to fight back against his pancreatic cancer with this innovative treatment. However, his hopes were dashed when he learned that his insurance would not cover the nearly $30,000 procedure cost.

Kevin, a dedicated father, husband, and 18-year Army veteran, now faces an insurmountable financial barrier in his fight for life. Despite the relentless challenges, Kevin's spirit remains unbroken, and his family continues to stand by his side, determined to explore every possible avenue for his survival.

This is where your help can make a monumental difference. Donating to Kevin's cause can help fund this crucial treatment and give Kevin a fighting chance to remain with his loved ones. Your generosity can alleviate the financial burden on his family, allowing them to focus on Kevin's care and well-being.

Kevin has dedicated his life to serving his country, and now, in his time of need, we can give back to him. Your donation, no matter the size, can be the beacon of hope that Kevin and his family desperately need.

Please consider donating to support Kevin Margulies in his battle against pancreatic cancer. Every contribution brings him closer to the treatment that could save his life. 100% of what is donated will be directly sent to the Williams Cancer Institute to pay for Kevins' medical care.
