#hellomynameis Wil
Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust
Working together to drive excellence in care for our patients and communities
For #hellomynameis this week we visited Wil from Ward D5.
“I have been with Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust for 16 years, where I was originally working in the Philippines in the Emergency Department.
“I decided to come to the UK as I thought it would be an amazing opportunity for me to learn and develop my career. I was initially very nervous to come to the UK, but the staff were very welcoming and supportive. I still remember till this day my first interview at the hospital with the Matron from medicine, her caring manner made me feel at ease and has been mirrored in my approach to nursing.
“I am now a Band 7 Senior Charge Nurse on Ward D5. I manage the ward and staff, ensuring my team are up to date on their training and happy as this is reflected back on the patient.
“I feel the #hellomynameis is important because it is vital to promote our amazing services we have here at QA. I always ensure the patients journey is the best it can be – right the way through from admission to discharge.”
