Hello World
The gap between what software enables and our collective understanding of it is widening. It's good news because our capabilities as a species are not limited by our education, but it's also bad news because it means that fantasies, deception, and "alternative facts" will slow down the adoption of new products or even lead to capture by a very small set of actors for their own profit.
Over the last 15 years, I often found myself "preaching" things that I assumed everyone knew or understood, only to find that I was just lucky enough to learn about some of these things before most of you. I want to change that by sharing these. I know writing is hard, but I want to give it a shot!
This starts today. In software, a "hello world" is the first thing an engineer or developer creates. It's a way for developers to set up their tooling and understand the basic syntax of the language or the structure of the framework they will work with. Today, it's my way of telling you: let's learn together!

1 年Fantastic idea, Julien! Suggesting 2 topics you can add to your list: 1/ Governance : how do you see blockchain/DAO bringing innovation in the governance of entrepreneurial ventures, particularly those that aren’t fully digital ? How far are we from practical/useful applications ? 2/ ReFI/Climate Web 3 initiatives : what are the most promising initiatives helping scale climate action ?

1 年Great. As I am sure that I will learn about your EthDenver plans in the letter, how about a section on Europe. Is it different from the rest of the UDTverse? I want to know what other people built and what the learned about real world use cases. Just source and bullets, some personality in the mix maybe. Just my 2 cents.
