Meet Eric!
Eric Smith, Director of Sales & Marketing at?Alliant Systems, never planned to enter the textile rental industry, despite growing up around it. His passion was journalism, and during his time at the University of Texas, he worked as a beat writer for the?Daily Texan, dreaming of a career in the newsroom. After graduation, he took a part-time opportunity at his father’s company, which specialized in billing software for commercial laundries. Expecting to move on after a few months, Eric has now spent over thirty years with the company.
Eric?has developed a deep appreciation for the textile rental industry, especially its sense of community. He’s continually impressed by how willing people are to help each other and share their experiences. This collaborative spirit inspired him to launch?Laundry Talks, a podcast that focuses on the people and companies in the industry. His very first guest was his father, who helped develop one of the first computerized billing systems for laundries in the late 1960s.
For those who haven't listened to this podcast, check it out! Watch Eric speak on the evolution of technology in laundry
