Hello, May!!!

Hello, May!!!

The world's favorite season is the spring. All things seem possible in May. ~ E. Teale

Winter is over. Spring has begun. And summer is around the corner.

Right after Christmas, you had a plan for 2018. You made goals – and you even wrote them down, pinned 'em next to your mirror, and see your goal list every day. You remind yourself to stay focused and committed to pursuing your passions. However, after a long winter with slow momentum and a spring season filled with the busy tax season and the reality of financial pressures... You are beginning to feel disconnected to your goals. And while you won’t admit it to your critics… You are questioning yourself and feeling those old emotions of self-doubt creeping into your dreams at night and causing your mind to wonder in the land of “what if’s” mid-conversation with your family and friends.

I know… I’ve been there recently too. The fantastic news is that April’s pressures are over and today is May 1st!!! Steve Jobs had it right with the following quote –

Let’s go invent tomorrow instead of worrying about what happened yesterday.

Whenever I feel myself slipping down the rabbit hole of self-doubts, pressures to succeed, fears of failure, and my own insecurities of personal self-worthiness… I use several techniques to pull myself out of my personal hell as quickly as possible. Because if I don’t… And I wander in my wonder… I forget to “Blossom & Be AWEsome” and my positive vibes swiftly disappear. My normally colorful rainbow skies become dark and stormy.

If you’re totally picking up everything I’m laying down right now then you know exactly how I feel, where I don’t want to be, and my need to push forward into the sunlight where my business - and personal growth - can blossom and flourish in the beauty of the season.

A skill which quickly adjusts my mindset is: Implementation Intentions

An implementation intention is a baby action plan that’s been scientifically proven to facilitate follow through on your goals. An implementation intention takes the form of an “If this… Then that…” statement. It’s very simple – if situation X arises, I will perform behavior Y.

A major point for Implementation Intentions is to be very specific.

So, in my daily routine and life, it is as follows: “If it’s 6:00am on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday… Then I will go to the gym, spend 40 minutes on the treadmill, listen to my jams and sing to myself, and treat myself to 20 minutes of mental/spiritual relaxation in the massage chair before beginning to read my emails and diving in to my work.”

This one itty bitty technique has facilitated my optimistic and bedazzling mindset morning after morning and kept me on the positive vibes highway towards my goals. Implementation Intentions allow my dark and stormy thoughts to dissipate and become beautiful rainbows of striking colors amid the blues of the sky in my vision of my future.

With the use of Implementation Intentions, I know you can feel the full power and beauty of the month of May and find your positive vibes along your journey to fulfilling your dreams, passions, desires, and personal growth as you achieve your goals in life.

In the marvellous month of May when all the buds were bursting, then in my heart did love arise. In the marvellous month of May when all the birds were singing, then did I reveal to her my yearning and longing. ~ Heinrich Heine

May the power of May bring you success and much aloha!!!
