Hello from ASRS Vancouver BC!

For those wondering about the dog in the pic - that's my 15 year old Rottie, Christy, - she's my screensaver so that she can go everywhere with me! So here she is at the USRetina booth at ASRS!

I'm here at the American Society of Retina Specialists in beautiful Vancouver BC! There are Retina Specialists from across the world here networking, learning and sharing best practices - what a brain trust! Just one of the cool things I've seen has been low vision smart glasses for the visually impaired. They sort of look like virtual reality gaming glasses but shades of google glasses - remembe when those came out? So these glasses have text to speech (OCR), variable maginification, bluetooth wireless remote, voice activation, verbal prompts, barcode/QR scanning, new picture/video feature. I mean how cool is this?!

It is truly amazing the strides being made in eye care and with new technologies and medications being created, the future is so promising!
