Dear Corporates,
English Dictionary may define "Veterans" in many terms but the true reference is made here for the persons retired from active Military Services. This includes the persons retired from Indian ARMY, Indian NAVY & Indian Air Force. There could be many reasons for retirements like after completing initial terms of engagements, not being promoted to higher ranks due to pyramidal hierarchy, medically not sound or to voluntarily perusing another career opportunity. There is system is in place to keep the armed forces younger with vigour to fight with.
As we know that the Military Service is quite demanding and sacrificing in nature, only the dare devils take the opportunity to serve the country in all challenging conditions. They continue sacrificing their personal lives away from family even in very demanding situations. Their role in KARGIL intrusion and recent devastation in Uttarakhand last year got applauds from all corners of the world. Despite all these sacrifice and praise, they remain hidden in civil society after leaving the active Military Service.

R – Reliable, Responsible & Ready for change
A- Always with Positive Attitude
N- Never Give Up Personality
The training methodology shapes them with adoptive & innovative minds even in most demanding situations. The cross cultural campus life makes them cosmopolitan citizen to adjust with global traditions which is necessary for overall development of a good character. They are solid characters to live in solidarity & harmony, so are always good team players. Attached video shows clear team work by coordination with men & machine which is not possible without technology, skill & daredevil will to achieve goals.
With the advancement in Technology, military men are no longer the persons only with FOOT in BOOT. They have moved from ground warfare to space & nuclear warfare and so have scaled up their skill & expertise. They are now the persons in SUIT & BOOT, bridging the conventional perceptions & Skill gap. It is not limited to the area of security services and position could range from executive to very higher echelon of the organization. Some of the area where Veterans could be employed are:-

Though the Government has in placed many welfare measures to absorb them in several PSUs like Air India, HAL, NTRO, Banking or some other state government organizations but it cannot meet the needs of re employing all the veterans due to various limitations.
Some of the Veterans have already proved themselves in the fields of Banking, HR management, Marketing, Retail Chains, Construction, Inventory Management, Heavy machinery and many more beside the aviation related jobs.
Even the wards of Veterans are mostly brought up in same environment and bear good morale characters. Fully secured Campus with facilities like housing, sports & Schooling inside has given them freedom to live with free mindset. As a result, they have acquired good academic qualifications and doing well in respective organizations where ever they are employed. After getting best from the Veterans,there are few organizations which have also employed the sons / daughters of Veterans . These next -gen veterans have proved equally well to the organizations which hired them.
A considerable number of veterans are already on the pay rolls of major companies such as Reliance, ICICI, Su-Kam, Zicom Electronic Security, Godrej, ICFAI, Vishal Retail, HCL Infosys, HCL Infinety, Amity University, JP Associates, ATS Reality, Amrapali Group, Manitowoc etc. Organizations that have employed VETERANS are more than satisfied and have invariably seeking more such personnel for the speedy mutual growth.
But the best is yet the come……
With the visionary government is place at center, the world is looking at India as potentially greatest economy of 21st century. With the missions like Make in India, Digital India, Swachchh Bharat Abhiyan, 100 Smart cities in pipe line, Infrastructure development, 175 GW of Solar Energy and Housing for all, we are sure that need for the skilled & trained manpower is going to rise very fast. There would surely be rise in demand for the VETERANS in these sectors in time to come. There is also queue for startup ventures with eye on future demands in various sectors. VETERANS could be true & reliable partners for the start up too.
It is not that VETERANS are not getting the 2nd innings of the life, but it is the matter of grabbing the opportunity by the CORPORATES as well by recognizing the true potentials of Veterans. The sooner we place them in the team, the better is chances for the team excelling to new heights. It is the matter of converting their best abilities in to opportunity and win-win situation for both.
This could be a CSR measure also to keep them engage as engine of growth and a change agent. Believe me, there is NO REGRET involved in employing them. But it can be REGETTED by not utilizing the true potential and opportunity to re-employ them.
