Oh, Dearest Mum Bathqyomo Marine Khoury-Issa

First of all, a word that I came through this month, which I wish to share with the readers of this article:

As you go through your day, remember to see yourself as God sees you.

You are Blessed,

You are Prosperous,

And

You are talented

Keep renewing your mind with His Word, and let the image of your Creator guide your thoughts and actions.

Today, Wednesday the 2nd of October 2024, and as I stop to contemplate, I have my soul, my mind, my heart and my spirit praying for God the Almighty for peace to prevail. Indeed, I feel blessed because I am sure I have God in my life, as you taught us oh Mum. Amen.

I commence today's journey with this prayer, which I came through this month. This prayer is not only for me, but the family, friends and to those who are giving out from their own time to read this article:

I know Mum, you would have been praying audaciously, fearlessly, and bravely also urging everyone to join you in prayers, and I know they would join, because you had the ability to inspire, great communicator, with good attitude, and confidence in the power of prayer, always creative, with great intuition and honesty, which would allow you to lead people to follow and join in prayers.

Indeed, these prayers you would have been raising, as our beloved #HomeLand is now as it has been for ages facing great and yet new challenges.

Earlier, I shared this prayer derived from the Syriac Prayers – the Syriac language that was blessed as it was spoken by Our Lord Jesus Christ, Our Lady Virgin Mary and the Disciples. This prayer was mainly following the latest events in our beloved country #Lebanon that saw several important events in our lives as a family.

The Lord is with us - Night and day - So wrote the son of Jesse - In the book of Psalms - When he awoke his harp - And began to sing - Blessed are those - Who are without fault - Who walk in the paths of the Lord - And keep His commandments - And our saviour said – In the Gospel of life - Blessed are the pure For they shall see God.

Well, it is not only #Lebanon, but the whole homeland #Mesopotamia has been and continues to face challenging time, the homeland that lost her original inhabitants who are now scattered around the world, and the remaining few are now in danger of disappearing and leaving... I know how your heart will be aching and you would have been praying and seeking God's help to save that 'cradle of civilization'. God hear our prayers.

Indeed, and as you taught us, this was throughout our lives, but what really comes to my mind always are those great afternoons as we gather at the backyard and exchanging ideas about different verses from the Holy Bible, as we come back home from work, while you would be enjoying reading verses from your huge Bible, and your quiet time would change into a beautiful family time of discussion and having the beautiful coffee and your hand-made sweets - oh Mum how much we miss those times.

Indeed, we always seek guidance from the Holy Bible, and these two verses would be directed to the innocent people of Mesopotamia who have been suffering from ages, and it seems suffering is ongoing. Those original inhabitants of Mesopotamia are pure in the heart, keen to practice their belief, steadfast in their belief no matter what the circumstances are, which reminds me of the eighth verse of chapter five from the Holy Gospel according to St. Matthew:

The original inhabitants of Mesopotamia are believers, and have been suffering for a long time but they keep the faith. God have mercy on them. Indeed, such people would be blessed as no matter what suffering and challenges they face, they continue to believe in Our Lord Jesus Christ. True as we read in the verse twenty-nine from chapter twenty of the Holy Gospel according to St. Matthew:

Thus, no matter how much we pray, we need to pray more so we can save our people. This is a prayer that I read this month, and I feel would be appropriate to repeat as we witness the devastation, a feeling that I am sure Mum would join me in:

My Lord and God Jesus Christ, I am seeking Your mighty protection and peace to cover not only my close family from the youngest to the eldest, but my big family of the original inhabitants of Mesopotamia who are suffering, and facing ongoing challenges, in Your Powerful Name.

As I mentioned in the previous articles, Oh Mum, through the last eight articles of #02JAN2024, #02FEB2024, #02MAR2024, #02APR2024, #02MAY2024, #02JUN2024 #02JUL2024, #02AUG2024, and #02SEP2024 I shared with you about my 2024 new initiative, and thank God, with God's grace the initiative continues and we are now in Chapter eight of the Holy Gospel according to St. Mark after sharing the whole Holy Gospel according to St Matthew. Certainly, and once again, as you instilled in us to be always thankful to God the Almighty, I continue to thank God the Almighty for giving me the strength to continue throughout the month, with the daily verses featuring images from Marine's garden, praying that I continue to be supported and strengthened to continue with this initiative. As I would usually say, again, and again and again and from a heart filled with gratitude I continue to be very thankful and extremely grateful to God the Almighty who honored me and blessed me to be the daughter of Bathqyomo Marine Khoury-Issa, something I am extremely very proud of ... Oh Mum... miss you very dearly... Oh Mum...
